MISSIONS

Mission Statement
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

Local Missions
Acts 2 Toledo
Matt and Wendy Yeager are missionaries right here in Toledo. They are working together to reach the schools in NW Ohio.  Wendy leads the Keep Watch Prayer Initiative, launching prayer walks in schools and Matt has recently joined the team.  Currently there are 24 schools with prayer walks and more launch every year.  In addition she helps churches create partnerships with schools. Wendy grew up here at Church of the Cross.   Visit their fb page to see the exciting growth happening with this ministry: @keepwatchprayer

Water for Ishmael
This ministry's mission is to partner with the local church to build a welcoming community for Toledo area internationals, to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ, and to empower internationals with skills to become successful. Visit them at www.waterforishmael.org for more information.

Journey of the Heart
Journey of the Heart is both a local and global ministry that represents the heart of God.  Their mission is "To help women discover hope and healing in their everyday life"/  JOthM Center of Hope is designed to create a safe and confidential place in the community where women can discover a new way to live in Hope.  The purpose of the Center of Hope is to provide a beautiful place where women know they are not alone in their struggle.  The Center of Hope offers a comprehensive one2one mentoring program, free of charge, for women to find the Hope that is needed in their everyday life.

To get more information, or to learn how you can help this ministry, visit their website at: www.journeyoftheheart.org.

National Missions
H2O
H2O is a gospel-centered community whose mission is to see college students become disciples of Jesus Christ. They then are prepared to influence their families, workplaces and the world.

We have a pair of missionaries from our church who are serving with the H2O church at The Ohio State University, Kyle and Rachel Metz.  Their mission is to bring the hope of the Gospel to the 58,000 or so students experiencing the loneliness, brokenness, and darkness that is prevalent on college campuses.  They are committed to helping young men and women be raised up as desciples of Jesus Christ.  Visit the H2O website to learn more: www.oh2o.org

International Missions
OM International
OM works in every continent and on every ocean (via two ocean-going ships). Operation Mobilization seeks to demonstrate and proclaim the love of God. Missionaries work in partnership with interested individuals and churches.  More information can be found at: www.omusa.org, www.omafrica.org, or www.om.org

CotC has sent out a family as missionaries to Africa. Grant & Gail Blair and their 3 children, stationed in Pretoria, South Africa.  Grant is the Assistant Area Leader for Sub Sahara Africa.  Grant's leadership oversees the teams of Finance, Information Technology, Short-term Outreaches, and Human Resources for OM's work there. Gail has home-schooled their children and leads the Team Life initiative to build unity among the Pretoria-based teams.  The whole family serves monthly at OM's AIDS Hope Saturday Kid's Club.

GEM (Greater Europe Mission)
This is a Germany-based mission to help local churches reach their community as well as learning tools to bring Bible training to the people who cannot attend residential schools.

Our missionary, Jacob Coon, is an Instructional Designer with GEM's eDOT division.  He is part of a team that specializes in developing technology solutions in partnership with Europeans that equip people so they can reach the world with the Gospel.  When  GEM partners desire to teach or train students, it is the team's job to create the best tools possible in order to help them convey the information to the learners. Feel free to email Jacob if you have questions, seek more information, or wish to find ways to support this mission:  jacob.coon@gemission.org.

If you would like more information about any of our missionary partners,  or wish to know how you can support any of these ministries, please call the church.
